About Big Creek Suds

Big Creek Suds is a small handmade soap business based in Deville, Louisiana. It all began in late June and early July of 2025 for a very personal reason. My son Devin, who is autistic, and I both have sensitive skin. We have always struggled with irritation from everyday products, including soap, laundry detergent, and even deodorant. Finding products that worked for us has never been easy.
I started looking for a better option and decided to learn how to make our own soap. What began as a way to care for my family quickly grew into something more when I realized we were not the only ones searching for gentler, more nourishing soap. That is how Big Creek Suds was born.
Right now, our soaps are made with tallow and lard bases and are crafted with care using thoughtfully chosen fragrance oils. We use skin safe micas from Mad Mica to create fun, vibrant colors, swirls, and designs. Recently, We just began adding kaolin clay to our newer batches for a smoother feel and a gentle cleanse. Some of our earlier (made before January 15th)soaps were made before this addition, but every bar is made with intention and care.
I, Jeannie, handle the making, cutting, curing, and testing of each batch. Devin helps with packaging, labeling, and keeping our little soap kitchen running smoothly. We work together as a team, and Big Creek Suds truly is a family effort.
As our business grows, we plan to expand our line to include vegan soaps, goat milk soaps, salt soaps, and more, giving our customers a wider variety to choose from.
At Big Creek Suds, we believe soap should be high quality, fun, and made with care. Our goal is simple. To create soap we trust for our own family and share it with others who may also struggle with sensitive skin. We hope you enjoy every bar as much as we enjoy making them.
